While 18 of the Top 25 in our new GH 100 rankings are off the board, the state's top two prospects will remain unsigned after the early signing period that ends today.
Macon Westside's Khavon Moore will wait until the late signing period and will be one of the best unsigned prospects in the country during the 2017-18 season. The skilled, 6'8 wing has taken an official visit to Florida and also has Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Oklahoma in hot pursuit.
Former Auburn pledge EJ Montgomery is taking a similar path to Moore and seems in no hurry to make his college decision. The 6'9 product from Wheeler HS decommitted from the Tigers following the FBI investigations that included Auburn and now seems relatively open with his recruitment. Montgomery has heard the most from North Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Clemson and Mississippi State this fall and look for that list to continue to grow in the coming months.
New to the Rankings
Upstart program Lincoln Academy features 4 players in the GH 100 including the state's top unsigned point guard in Alabama native Myreon Jones. 6'10 center EJ Williams, Tennessee native Damion Baugh and versatile forward Giir Ring. Head Coach Bryan Lippman will challenge the new program with a very competitive national schedule.
Depth of the Class
While not as strong from top to bottom as the 2017 class, this year's senior class projects to include 50-55 Division I level signees which would fall right into the state's average since we began our coverage in 2012.
